Stock Up: Jordan Murphy,WR
Tennessee’s wide receivers as a whole have had a somewhat up and down fall camp, but one player who has emerged from this unit is Jordan Murphy. The sophomore has made some impressive catches over the past week and was one of the standouts in the Vols’ first scrimmage.
Murphy made minimal impact as a freshman, but he’s been a pleasant surprise for UT’s offense this fall. He turned in a good first week of camp, but he’s really come into his own this past week. He’s been solid and made some of the more impressive grabs of Tennessee’s wide receiver unit.
The Vols have a lot of talented players at receiver, so it remains to be seen just how big of an impact Murphy can have this season. But he’s definitely played his way into more playing time this year, and he has a chance to be a returner on special teams as well. Murphy has the speed and hands to be a useful target for whoever lines up at quarterback for UT this year.
