Stock Up: Alontae Taylor

Starting as a true freshman in the SEC is never easy, but that looks like the path Alontae Taylor is on right now.

Taylor came in to Tennessee to play wide receiver, but he was moved over to cornerback in the spring and has only continued to get better there this fall. He looks like he’s developing into a legit option at that position, and he could be working his way into a starting spot as one of the two main cornerback positions on the Vols’ roster. He has great length, athleticism, speed, and flexibility. He just needs to work more on his technique and continue to learn the position.

The sky is the limit for Taylor right now, and he’s proven to be a quick study. Even if he doesn’t start Week 1 at corner for the Vols, he should be the starter at some point there this season.
