Stock Report: Week 1 of Vols’ Fall Camp

Stock Down: Trey Coleman

Trey Coleman hasn’t necessarily had a bad fall himself, but it just looks like he’s getting passed over in the running back room. And he might be pressed for playing time this season.

Ty Chandler and Tim Jordan have been consistently two of the top performers in the running back group this fall, and Madre London has shown plenty of potential as a fifth-year grad transfer. Even Jeremy Banks, a true freshman, has had some good moments.

But Trey Coleman hasn’t really stood out one way or the other. And that makes it look like he’s going to be the odd man out.

Coleman has good size at 6-foot, 210 pounds. But he’s not as athletic as Chandler and isn’t quite as powerful as London or Jordan. He has the potential to be a good running back, but the Vols just have some more talented options who are better fits in the same group.
