Running Back
Total: 9 starts
Madre London – 8 (30)
Ty Chandler – 1 (12)
Tennessee had one returning start last year at running back, and that was thanks to John Kelly getting a spot start in 2016. This year, the addition of grad transfer Madre London provides some much-needed veteran presence to what would otherwise be an extremely young group.
London made eight career starts and appeared in 30 overall games with Michigan State during his time with the Spartans. He’s the only running back on UT’s roster who isn’t a sophomore or younger. If not for him, true sophomore Ty Chandler would be the most experienced player at this position.
Chandler is the projected starter for the Vols at running back, but London will provide some quality depth and should be able to be a good mentor for Chandler and the rest of Tennessee’s running backs.
