Once again, Pruitt and his staff wanted to bring in as many instant impact type players as they could in their first year at Tennessee. They did that by bringing in a number of grad transfers and junior college players, and the Vols will have four other JUCO players on the practice field this fall.

Jordan Allen was a JUCO linebacker who was on campus during the spring, and he’ll be joined by four more junior college players this fall. Wood-Anderson should secure the No. 1 tight end spot for Tennessee, Gooden should battle for the nose tackle position or the second defensive tackle spot, Johnson should fight for one of the Vols’ offensive tackle positions, and George should provide depth in an otherwise fairly inexperienced cornerback unit.
