Ollie Lane, OL
Tennessee’s offensive line is one of the team’s biggest question marks heading into Jeremy Pruitt’s first year as the Vols’ head coach. But the additions of Alabama grad transfer Brandon Kennedy and junior college tackle Jahmir Johnson along with the expected returns of Trey Smith and Chance Hall should help in the fall. But the future of the unit is still up in the air, and one of the players who could be a useful piece in that unit moving forward is Ollie Lane.
Lane, who hails from Gibbs High School in east Tennessee, has the fundamentals of a potentially successful offensive lineman. And him arriving on campus as an early enrollee gave him valuable reps and time in UT’s weight room. He shouldn’t be counted on to play a meaningful role for the Vols in 2018, but getting him some games to see what kind of strides he’s taken would be very beneficial to his development down the line.
