4. Micah Abernathy, Safety
He hasn’t been flashy, but Micah Abernathy has been one of the more consistent contributors for the Vols on defense over the last couple seasons. Abernathy started all 12 games last season and started 10 games in 2016. He was third on the team last year with 81 tackles and broke up two passes, recovered a fumble, and had a tackle for loss as well. Last year wasn’t as good of a season as his 2016 campaign, but that’s true for a vast majority of Tennessee’s players from last year. He looks positioned to thrive in the Vols’ new defense this season, and another solid year as a senior should solidify him as a surefire NFL draft prospect.
