5. Jahmir Johnson, Offensive Line
It’s no secret that Tennessee’s offensive line was the biggest disaster on the team last season. And due to injuries and rehab, the Vols’ offensive line was extremely thin this spring. Tennessee didn’t have enough players to fill out an entire two-deep depth chart with scholarship linemen this spring until they moved some players over to the unit. But with Chance Hall and K’Rojhn Calbert expected to return from injury this fall and Trey Smith also possibly returning, the competition will skyrocket at offensive line. And a talented JUCO player will also have a say in that unit this fall.
Jahmir Johnson comes from Arizona Western College and brings versatility and a large frame with him. The 6-foot-5, 278 pound lineman has the opportunity to be a starter in his first year at Tennessee thanks to the lack of depth and high-quality players along the Vols’ offensive line.
