It’s been a long and winding journey back to football for Jauan Jennings. The Vols’ wide receiver missed almost all of last season with injury, and then he was kicked off the team just days before the season finale against Vanderbilt after he posted a profanity-laced tirade on social media.

But once Tennessee hired Phillip Fulmer as Athletics Director and Jeremy Pruitt as head football coach, things changed for Jennings.

Both Fulmer and Pruitt had multiple discussions with Jennings, and Pruitt laid out a series of requirements and guidelines that Jennings needed to follow in order to stay in the good graces of the football program.

And with that, Jennings was welcomed back to the roster. As long as he continues to comply with the guidelines he was given, he’ll remain a part of the Vols’ team.

Jennings hasn’t practiced on the field any this spring as he recovered from minor surgery he had in the offseason, but he’s been with the team as he rehabbed. And on Saturday, he got to go through the Vol Walk with his teammates, and he was excited about being back with the team and the opportunity to go though that.

Jennings is expected to be a full go for fall camp and once the 2018 season begins. He did not participate in the Orange & White Game on Saturday.
