6. Shy Tuttle, DT
For the first time since he was an early enrollee back in 2015, Shy Tuttle is fully healthy during the spring. And he’s been able to finally make an impact during the spring because of that.
Tuttle will move in to Tennessee’s nose tackle position when they’re in a 3-4 defense this season, and he looks like he’s in the best shape of his life right now. But seeing him in practice and running through drills is one thing; how will Tuttle do when he’s asked to break through double teams and disrupt running backs?
The Vols desperately need better defensive line play this season after a poor showing last year. And Tuttle will be the anchor on the revamped line. Will he show off his potential on Saturday? Or will he still look slowed by past injuries?
