The Vols’ new coaching staff are doing everything they can to add talented players to Tennessee’s future roster. And that was made apparent on Thursday night when one of the top athletes in the 2020 class committed to the Vols.
Kristian Story is just a rising junior this upcoming high school football season, but he’s already regarded as one of the top players in the class of 2020 and holds a couple offers from elite SEC schools. And on Thursday night, he announced his commitment to Tennessee.

Story is rated as the No. 96 overall player and 6th-best athlete in the class by 247Sports. The 6-foot-2, 196 pound athlete from Lanett, Alabama holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Louisville.
So far in his high school career, Story has been used as Lanett’s quarterback. And he’s been able to show off his dynamic athleticism in that role. Story’s highlight film shows off his elusiveness as a runner and his strong arm as a thrower. He’s even used on defense in the secondary. He reminds me a lot of Jauan Jennings in the fact that he’s just an impressive athlete who can probably play a number of positions in college. It will be all about finding his best fit. Maybe his highest ceiling is at quarterback, and maybe it’s at receiver or corner. Regardless, he’s an incredible athlete.
As a sophomore, Story completed 64.5 percent of his 217 pass attempts for 3,286 yards, 35 touchdowns, and nine interceptions according to MaxPreps. He also ran for 765 yards and seven scores on 83 carries.
Story is Tennessee’s first commit in the 2020 class. He made his announcement while unofficially visiting the Vols on Thursday. It was his second time visiting Tennessee since they offered him back on January 15th of this year.
