10. Eli Wolf, TE
Four-star junior college prospect Dominick Wood-Anderson won’t join the Vols till after spring practices are over. And once he comes in, there’s a very good chance he’ll end up being the No. 1 tight end in Tennessee’s offense.
But who will play when the Vols go in two tight end sets, a formation they’re expected to use much more under Tyson Helton?
The Vols don’t have a ton of experience at tight end on the roster with the departure of Ethan Wolf, but his little brother has the most of anyone at the position currently on the roster. And if he can have a solid spring, he can establish himself as a legit counterpart to Wood-Anderson.
Wolf started the Vols’ season-opener against Georgia Tech last season and ended up catching three passes for 48 yards in nine games. He wasn’t used a great deal, but he flashed some potential in his redshirt sophomore season.
If Wolf is able to separate himself from the rest of the tight ends this spring, it will bode well for himself and the unit come fall.
