The 2019 recruiting cycle is in full swing as prospects are nearing the end of their junior year of high school and are beginning to narrow down their options for the next level. One linebacker that the Vols are targeting from Baton Rouge, Louisiana listed Tennessee in his top eight schools moving forward.

Bryton Constantin is a three-star outside linebacker that plays for University Lab High School. Monday, he tweeted out a letter announcing his top eight schools.

The Vols join Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Clemson, Auburn, Florida, TCU, and Houston as Constantin’s top remaining teams.

Constantin’s recruitment has really heated up over the last month. All eight of the schools featured in his top eight offered him in the last month. In addition to those eight schools, the 6-foot-2, 220 pound linebacker also holds offers from dozens of other schools such as Kansas, Kansas State, and Arizona State.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 45 outside linebacker and 23rd ranked player in the state.

Constantin is high school teammates with another Vol target, Christian Harris. Harris is a four-star prospect and a very talented athlete, and you have to wonder if the decision of Constantin could impact the decision of Harris.

The athletic linebacker had a very good junior season, which is partially the reason his recruiting has seen the increase it has. In 2017, he recorded 104 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. He returned the interception for a touchdown. He earned Class 3A Defensive MVP honors statewide.

Constantin will be hoping to put up similar numbers his senior campaign as University Lab will look to have another undefeated season. The linebacker is a great player and Jeremy Pruitt will hope to stay high on his list as we near signing day.
