1. Quarterback
The Vols’ top need in the 2019 class is quarterback, but not necessarily because of depth.
Tennessee’s quarterback situation is as unsettled as it’s ever been. The Vols had a quarterback battle last offseason that bled into the regular season, and that could end up happening again this year if nobody separates themselves in either the spring or fall.
Right now, the Vols have just three scholarship quarterbacks in Jarrett Guarantano, Will McBride, and incoming freshman J.T. Shrout. Tennessee needs to find their quarterback of the future in this 2019 class in case Shrout doesn’t pan out or in case any of the quarterbacks sustain injuries like what happened this season.
Quarterback is the most important position in football. And it should be the most important position in Tennessee’s 2019 class too.
One Response
Surprised not to see RB on this list. Other than Chandler, and to some extent Fils-Aime, there is nobody with any meaningful experience, and we didn’t really address that need in this year’s class.
