Tennessee needs play-makers at wide receiver moving forward, and that position is one the Vols will be addressing significantly in the 2019 class. And Jeremy Pruitt and his staff sent out a scholarship offer to an electric receiver in this cycle on Sunday.
Jameson Williams is a four-star receiver out of St. Louis, Missouri. Tennessee sent an offer to him on Sunday afternoon, and Williams tweeted out the offer shortly after.

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Williams is the No. 238 overall player and No. 41 wide receiver in the 2019 class. The regular 247Sports rankings are a little more favorable to him, however, and Williams is the No. 99 overall player and 13th-best receiver in the class according to those rankings.
The Vols will be competing against teams like Ohio State, Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, and Texas A&M to try and land Williams’ commitment. He currently holds offers from nearly three dozen schools, and he’s picked up five scholarship offers in 2018 alone.
Why are all these teams vying for Williams? It’s because he has game-changing speed and athleticism. His highlight film shows that off magnificently. Williams blows by defenders routinely, and he’s shifty enough to escape tackles on a regular basis. He’ll have to have more than just speed to succeed as a receiver in college, but he also appears to have pretty solid hands as well.
At 6-foot-2, 160 pounds, Williams has the frame to put on some more weight, but he’s not a small receiver either. The kind of speed and athleticism he has is rare in bigger receivers, and that’s why he’s such a hot commodity in the 2019 class right now.
As a junior, Williams pulled down 36 receptions for a whopping 1,062 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. That means he averaged nearly 30 yards per catch as a junior. He also returned seven punts and scored on three of those returns. He even played on defense as a defensive back and returned an interception for a touchdown.
Williams is one of the most impressive athletes in the 2019 class. Expect the Vols to do everything they can to try and land him.
