Trevon Flowers, DB
When Jeremy Pruitt calls you “the steal of the class,” you know you’re probably much better than recruiting services gave you credit. And I expect that to be true of Trevon Flowers.
Flowers went under the radar for a large portion of his football recruitment because he, much like Brandon Davis, focused on baseball when recruiting camps were being held. It wasn’t until the Vols offered him on January 15th that he started to really pick up steam. Shortly after that, Clemson got in the mix and offered him and had him officially visit them at the end of January.
But the Vols were able to hold off the Tigers and secure his signature for the 2018 class.
Flowers is versatile and dangerous in the secondary. Pruitt has already mentioned that Flowers can play both safety and corner and that they plan on testing him at both positions. I don’t know how big of an impact Flowers will have as a true freshman, but I think you can start to see him getting a decent amount of snaps by 2019.
