The Vols had one hidden gem at receiver in Jordan Young. But then he flipped to Florida State on National Signing Day. But luckily for the Vols, they had found another receiver who had flown under the radar in the 2018 class and were able to add him.

Cedric Tillman is a big bodied receiver who has a great deal of athleticism as well. He knows how to use his large frame, and he had the speed and awareness in high school to make defenders look silly. Granted, the learning curve will be steeper in college, but he has enough raw talent alone to be intriguing.

Tillman caught just 37 passes as a senior, but he made every one of those catches count. He totaled 774 yards and seven touchdowns on those 37 catches, giving him nearly a 21 yard per catch average.

I don’t expect Tillman to contribute much as a freshman. But I think by the time 2020 rolls around, he’ll prove he was better than his 1,685th overall ranking.
