1. Dominick Wood-Anderson, TE
I mentioned earlier that the Vols need play-makers on offense. That extends beyond just the wide receiver position too. Tennessee needs immediate help at tight end too, and Dominick Wood-Anderson is the perfect player to fill that need.
Wood-Anderson was the top JUCO tight end in the 2018 class, and the Vols were able to steal him away from Alabama in the early signing period. And Tennessee desperately needed him.
The tight ends on Tennessee’s current roster have combined to catch six passes for 65 yards. The Vols have very little experience at tight end, and they don’t have a proven play-maker. And while Wood-Anderson isn’t a proven play-maker in college just yet, he proved in junior college that he has what it takes to do it at the next level.
Tennessee still needs help at tight end when it comes to blocking in the run and pass game, but Wood-Anderson should immediately start and should be a top pass catching target for whomever starts at quarterback for the Vols.
