Nesta Silvera, DT
Speaking of talented defensive tackles who are committed elsewhere, Nesta Silvera is one of the highest-rated tackles in the 2018 class and is visiting Tennessee this weekend.
Silvera has been committed to Miami since February of 2017, but the Vols have done enough to convince him to visit Knoxville in the waning weeks of the 2018 recruiting cycle. Chris Rumph, who is now on Tennessee’s staff, was recruiting Silvera at Florida. He’s now trying to persuade the four-star tackle to flip to Tennessee. Silvera is the No. 2 defensive tackle in the 2018 class and is the 54th-ranked player overall.
Florida already got an official visit from Silvera last weekend, and he’s set to visit Miami next weekend after he visits Tennessee. It’s highly unlikely the Vols can convince the 6-foot-2, 308 pound tackle to flip to them, but he would be a perfect nose tackle for Pruitt and Tennessee’s defense.
As a senior, Silvera totaled 107 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks. He’s a disruptive play-maker on defense, and the Vols are going to try their best to flip him.
