Tennessee has a ton of defensive tackles visiting this weekend, and it might do them some good to have a peer recruiter at the position to come in with those tackles. And that might be just the role that current Vol signee Brant Lawless is playing.
Lawless signed with Tennessee during the early signing period, and the four-star defensive tackle could be coming into Knoxville in order to be another positive voice for Tennessee for their multitude of defensive tackle visitors.
Lawless is the No. 21 defensive tackle in the 2018 class and is the No. 7 player in the state of Tennessee. He hails from Nashville and measures in at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds. It’s unclear if he’ll transition into a nose tackle or more of a defensive end, but he’s a talented lineman who will figure into the Vols’ defensive schemes moving forward regardless of what position he plays.
