The two players who aren’t defensive tackles who are visiting this weekend are cornerbacks. And Tiyon Palmer is one of those corners, and he’s a very good one.

Palmer is a bit of a last minute addition to Tennessee’s official visitor list for this weekend, and the Vols’ coaches are glad they could manage to get him in to Knoxville. Palmer is the No. 277 overall player in the country and the 29th-rated corner in the 2018 class. He’s a four-star and has seen his recruitment blow up as of late.

Palmer had been committed to Duke for over a year before decommitting on November 30th of 2017. Since then, he’s picked up offers from Nebraska, Notre Dame, Clemson, Arkansas, Tennessee, Cal, Georgia Tech, Maryland, and most recently from Alabama. He officially visited North Carolina State last weekend, and he visited Nebraska two weekends ago. He also visited Vanderbilt back in mid-December.

The rangy, 6-foot cornerback out of Lawrenceville, Georgia has seen his recruitment erupt over the past month. He’s a physical corner who played a variety of positions both on defense and offense in high school. Tennessee needs tons of help at cornerback, and he could provide some immediate depth at the position.
