Derek Barnett made plenty of highlight reel plays while at Tennessee. And now he can add one to his tape of his rookie season in the NFL.
Barnett and his NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles, took on the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football on Christmas night. The Eagles held a field goal lead in the final seconds, and Oakland was in desperation mode on their final play of the game. They attempted several laterals in an effort to break Philadelphia’s defense and find a seam to score the game-winning touchdown.
But one of the pitches went awry, and the former Vol was able to recover a fumble and rumble to the end zone for his first ever touchdown in the NFL.
How good is the @Eagles‘ defense?

Barnett’s touchdown is an exclamation point on what has been a fairly solid rookie season with the Eagles in the NFL. After the game, Barnett now has 22 total tackles, five sacks, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and that defensive touchdown.
The Eagles drafted Barnett with the 14th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft this year after he put together a record-breaking career with the Vols. Barnett is the all-time leader in sacks for Tennessee, picking up 32 sacks in his three seasons with the Vols.
