Pruitt sent an offer to Olaijah Griffin very early on in his tenure as the Vols’ head coach, extending a scholarship offer to the talented corner on only his second day on the job. And Griffin has been listening since.

Griffin, who is currently committed to UCLA, is the No. 31 player in the nation and the No. 4 cornerback in the 2018 class. He’s been committed to UCLA since late July, but he visited the Vols on December 15th along with a multitude of other prospects.

It’s unclear if Tennessee will be able to flip Griffin away fro UCLA. But a coaching change with the Bruins and Tennessee’s own coaching change might be enough to do it, as would the promise of possible immediate playing time with the Vols. Griffin measures in at 6-foot, 170 pounds and has the type of size Pruitt and his defensive staff want in a corner.
