JJ Peterson, OLB
Tennessee wasn’t even really on JJ Peterson’s radar until Jeremy Pruitt took over. And now that Pruitt is with the Vols, Peterson has Tennessee as his leader, supplanting Nick Saban and Alabama.
In an interview with SEC Country, Peterson stated that Alabama had been replaced atop his list of favorites by Tennessee. Peterson has a close relationship with Pruitt and also has been recruited by the Vols’ projected defensive coordinator, Kevin Sherrer, during his time at Georgia.
Peterson is the No. 44 overall player in the country and the 2nd-ranked outside linebacker in the 2018 class. It’s expected he is the Tide’s top linebacker target on their board.
The 6-foot-1, 210 pound linebacker holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and others. He totaled 110 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, five sacks, three fumble recoveries, and two pass breakups as a senior.
