Coynis Miller, DT
Under Jeremy Pruitt, the Vols are expected to slowly transition into a 3-4 defensive scheme. In order to effectively run that scheme, Tennessee needs a large nose tackle on defense. And Coynis Miller fits that mold perfectly.
The four-star defensive tackle out of Birmingham, Alabama measures in at 6-foot-1, 300 pounds. That would be an ideal size for a nose tackle in the coming years for the Vols. He’s rated as the No. 147 overall player in the country and the 13th-ranked defensive tackle in the 2018 class.
Miller is currently committed to Auburn and will be hard to flip from the Tigers. But Pruitt immediately offered Miller on the first day of him accepting Tennessee’s offer to be head coach. Miller also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, and more.
