The Names to Watch for the Vols in the Early Signing Period

Jerome Carvin, OL

The Vols once appeared to be in a really good position to land a commitment from in-state offensive tackle Jerome Carvin. But now it looks as though getting him will be a toss up with another SEC school.

Carvin was supposed to visit the Vols this past weekend, but a scheduling conflict prevented that from happening. Jeremy Pruitt and new Vol offensive line coach Will Friend did visit Carvin on December 12th, however. The four-star tackle holds offers from Mississippi State, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, UCLA, Georgia, and others.

It looks as though Mississippi State and Tennessee are the favorites to pick up Carvin’s commitment, but neither appears to be ahead of the other. Florida is also a contender to land him.

Probability: Toss-up
