A day after being named to the AP All-SEC second team, Tennessee freshman offensive lineman Trey Smith picked up another All-SEC honor on Tuesday.
Smith was named to the second team of the Coaches All-SEC teams on Tuesday, giving him his second selection to an All-SEC second team in as many days. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players for the selections.
The true freshman became the fist Vol offensive lineman to earn a spot on the Coaches All-SEC team since Antonio Richardson was a second team selection back in 2013.
Smith was the only offensive lineman for the Vols to start all 12 games this season. He started primarily at guard, but he started at tackle down the stretch of the 2017 season because of the rash of injuries Tennessee experienced at offensive line. Smith garnered national praise for his play throughout the season, specifically in run blocking.
