Chris Petersen
Bio: Chris Petersen has one of the best records of any active head coach in college football. Combining his time at Boise State with his tenure at Washington, Petersen has amassed a 129-28 overall record. He coached Boise State to two undefeated seasons during his eight years there, and he took Washington to the College Football Playoff in just his third season with the Huskies. He helped them win 10 games this season as well.
Pros: Petersen’s track record speaks for itself. He’s helped his teams win 10 or more games in all but three of his 12 years as a head coach. He lost only 12 games as Boise State’s head coach in eight years there, and he quickly made Washington a contender in the Pac-12.
Cons/Questions: While he’s expressed frustration with the fact that his team and the rest of the teams on the west coast routinely get looked over and have to play games so late at night, would Petersen actually leave Washington to come coach at Tennessee? He has a fairly stable situation at Washington and has proven he can get the chance to win a title there.
