Tennessee parted ways with embattled head coach Butch Jones on Sunday, November 12th. Since then, athletic director John Currie has been devoting his time to searching for the right candidate to replace him.
Vol fans want a lot of things for Tennessee’s new head coach. Some want an explosive offense while others want a hard-nosed defense. Some want a coach with “orange blood” running through his veins while others just want a guy who will win at all costs.
Having seen my fair share of Tennessee football over the years, I’ve seen what coaches have done poorly over the years. Enough to know what Tennessee doesn’t need in a head coach. And by seeing these failures and shortcomings, I believe I know exactly what the Vols need in their next head coach in order to help bring Tennessee back to prominence.
These are the three characteristics I believe Tennessee’s next head coach must have.

1. The ability to loose in the SEC
2. The ability to lie
3. The ability to drink a lot to forget about it
In many ways, this is an endorsement for David Cutcliff IMO. The O-line to me, seems the heart of everything wrong or right now. NO talent matters without blocking for them on a run or pass. And just keeping the offense on the field doing their part, would have changed everything these last few years. Little, big, things.
Wish Jon Gruden and Peyton would get together and get get the Vols back to respectability.
