Butch Jones spoke to the media after Tennessee’s 24-10 victory over Southern Miss on homecoming on Saturday night, and he refused to comment on injuries and said he won’t moving forward.
Jones said he would not be commenting on injuries from this game or moving forward in order to “protect our players.” His comments come less than a week after reports surfaced that offensive lineman Brett Kendrick played last Saturday’s game against Kentucky with a concussion.
Wide receiver Marquez Callaway and quarterback Jarrett Guarantano left Saturday’s game and never returned. Offensive lineman Coleman Thomas left briefly but did return.
