Quarterback
Jarrett Guarantano’s third career start went better than his first two at least from an individual standpoint. Guarantano set a career-high in passing yards with 242 yards, and he was efficient with his passes, completing 18 of his 23 pass attempts. But he held the ball too long again on several occasions, and he didn’t create enough big plays when the Vols needed them most. He was also sacked seven times, and most of those weren’t his fault. Guarantano still doesn’t have a passing touchdown in three starts this season.
