Lane Kiffin’s lone season saw a couple clunkers on offense to start the season, and that was certainly the case when Tennessee hosted UCLA in the second game of the year.

UCLA actually gained less yards than the Vols in this game, totaling just 186 yards compared to Tennessee’s 208 yards. Both teams only scored one touchdown, and the two teams combined to make six field goals. The Bruins made four compared to the Vols’ two, however, and that proved to be the difference.

Jonathan Crompton was intercepted three times, and a stout performance by Tennessee’s defense was squandered by the Vols’ inability to do anything on offense.
