Report: Dormady Undergoes Tests on Shoulder

Quinten Dormady visited Chicago on Wednesday and Thursday to have tests run on a possible injured shoulder, as first reported by Tennessee Rivals on Friday.

Dormady is planning on traveling with the team to Tuscaloosa, and should be available to play against Alabama according to the report.

The junior quarterback started the first five games of the season, before being benched over the bye week for redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano. Reports surfaced last week that Dormady was “contemplating his future” with the Vols, and considering transferring out of the program. But Dormady is still with the team heading into this weekend.

Dormady has completed 55.5% of his passes this season for 925 yards and six touchdowns. He’s also thrown six interceptions, and added just 13 rushing yards this season on the ground.

If Dormady is unable to play moving forward, freshman quarterback Will McBride will be the new backup quarterback. With the transfer of Sheriron Jones over the offseason, McBride is the only scholarship quarterback left on the roster behind Guarantano and Dormady.
