Matt Simms
Although he’s managed to hang around the NFL for several years now, Matt Simms’ Tennessee career is one of the more forgettable among recent Vol quarterbacks.
Simms lost Tennessee’s starting job as often than he kept it. He started Tennessee’s 2010 season at quarterback but would eventually be replaced by true freshman Tyler Bray. He would then start in place of an injured Bray in 2011, but he would be benched again in favor of Justin Worley before Bray returned from injury.
Simms’ first ever start came on September 4th, 2010 in the Vols’ season opener against UT-Martin. He completed 14 of his 24 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown in a 50-0 victory.
