How Guarantano’s First Start Compares to Other Vol QBs

Justin Worley

Justin Worley’s Tennessee career will always be one of the more baffling ones. He was thrust into undesirable situations early in his career, and the latter half of his tenure with the Vols saw him running an offense that didn’t fit his skill set.

Worley’s first start came on October 29th, 2011 against South Carolina. Tyler Bray was sidelined with injury, and Matt Simms had proved ineffective in two starts previously. Head coach Derek Dooley turned to Worley in hopes of finding a spark, but he found none.

Worley was just 10-of-26 passing for 105 yards and two interceptions in the Vols’ 14-3 loss to the Gamecocks.
