Josh Dobbs
Although Josh Dobbs would go on to set several records as Tennessee’s starting quarterback, his first ever start is one of his least memorable performances as a Vol.
Dobbs was named the starter essentially by default in his freshman year after three other Tennessee quarterbacks were too hurt to play. Dobbs earned the start against Missouri on the road on November 2nd of 2013, and he completed 26 of his 42 passes for 240 yards and two interceptions. But he also ran for 45 yards on seven carries, showing off his dual-threat ability in his first start.
The Vols lost the game 31-3 that night, but Dobbs’ career was just getting started.
