Running Backs

After an impressive start, Tennessee’s running backs were silenced the rest of the game. But that’s not entirely on them. Not only was the offensive line not doing their job and getting beat by South Carolina’s defensive line, but the play-calling did little to help them out. John Kelly had 16 carries in the game, but only four of those came in the second half. Both Kelly and Ty Chandler looked good when they had the ball for the most part, but they weren’t helped by play-calling or blocking either.

  1. Obviously, Butch Jone is on the hot seat, but at what point do they shuffle the offensive play calling. It hasn’t been good. Do they take that responsibility away from Larry Scott, get rid of him, etc? What is your suggestion?
