32 Vols Since 2013 Class Have Transferred Under Butch Jones

Final Analysis

Tennessee has experienced some healthy attrition, no doubt about it. But there’s also been a great number of highly-rated players who have left for reasons other than lack of playing, and that has caused concern among Tennessee fans.

The Vols could use a number of these players on their roster right now. But as it is, Tennessee is dealing with depth issues and is having to play younger players at several positions because of this attrition.

Transfers are commonplace in college football. The number of transfers may not be out of the norm for the Vols, but the quality of players considering the talent of the rest of the roster certainly appears to be.

  1. So how does this compare to other SEC teams, who were the transfers and how did they impact the team. This is a bit of a regurgitation of the “Significant Transfers” article from another source that listed a number of player who had to transfer to lesser schools to get playing time. The only “significant” players were the 2 QB’s who couldn’t beat out Dobbs but did have good careers elsewhere. A very jaded headline that is meant for shock value & clicks but no real substance.
