6. Ty Chandler, RB
John Kelly has been a beast for the Vols at running back this season. He’s carried the ball 81 times for 450 yards and six scores.
But the rest of Tennessee’s running backs have combined to run the ball just 33 times, and that includes just 17 carries from Ty Chandler.
Tennessee can’t continue to use just John Kelly in SEC play like they have to start the season. They need a No. 2 back to emerge and be able to get more than just five carries a game to spell Kelly. Ty Chandler is the best choice for that, and the Vols need to start giving him more touches.
Chandler has looked good in the limited touches he’s had so far this season. He’s run for 64 yards on his 17 carries and 42 receiving yards on three catches. But he simply needs more touches, and it should start with this game.

One of Jones biggest problems is that he plays mind games with his players with regard to playing time. Call it an inferiority complex, he has to show people whose in charge. Case in point Bituli. A tackling machine but held out because of mental mistakes. Really? Jones, you’ve had two years to coach him up. You can’t be afraid to play 2-3 string players; that’s what has gotten you in trouble (Hurd is a great example).
