Tennessee’s offensive success starts and ends with the quarterback. John Kelly can only do so much at running back, and once the defense starts zeroing in on him, the Vols’ passing attack will need to provide relief.

And so far this season, Quinten Dormady’s performance has been spotty at best.

Dormady has made some great throws, but he’s also made some catastrophic ones. Through four games this year, Dormady is completing just 58.7 percent of his passes for 861 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions.

The Vols need Dormady to correct some of his mechanical mistakes, calm down, and not try and force some of the throws he’s been forcing to start the season.

Georgia’s defense is just as tough as Florida’s, and Dormady struggled mightily against them on the road two weeks ago. He needs to have a much better performance in this game to prove he deserves to be the full-time starter moving forward.

  1. One of Jones biggest problems is that he plays mind games with his players with regard to playing time. Call it an inferiority complex, he has to show people whose in charge. Case in point Bituli. A tackling machine but held out because of mental mistakes. Really? Jones, you’ve had two years to coach him up. You can’t be afraid to play 2-3 string players; that’s what has gotten you in trouble (Hurd is a great example).
