Now that it appears Todd Kelly Jr. is out for at least the majority of the season if not all of it, the Vols need to establish some more depth at safety. And why not get that from one of the standouts from fall camp?
Theo Jackson was one of the first freshmen to have their black stripes removed this fall. But despite that impressive display in the fall, Jackson has yet to see the field this year. That’s mostly been because the Vols’ safeties were one of the more talented and deep positions on the roster, but Kelly’s injury has severely affected that.
Tennessee doesn’t need to play their starting safeties a great deal in this game, and someone like Theo Jackson should see the field plenty.
