Butch Jones, Callaway, and Vickers Speak to Media

Butch Jones held his weekly Monday press conference this week, only this time he was speaking to the media after the Vols’ first loss of the season. And it was a heart breaker as Tennessee fell in the Swamp 26-20 to Florida.

Jones was followed by wide receiver Marquez Callaway and defensive tackle Kendal Vickers as well.

We were at the press conference today and have video of all three interviews in case you missed any of them.

Butch Jones addressed not running the ball inside Florida’s goal line, gave injury updates on players, talked about scheme, and more.

Marquez Callaway answered questions about play-calling in the red zone, why Jarrett Guarantano hasn’t played more, and much more.

Kendal Vickers talked about moving forward after that loss, Shy Tuttle finally getting back in the game, and more.

  1. Frankly I’m embarrassed at the Vol Nation and the press. Am I upset we lost… Yes
but do I think we need the type of reaction the coaches and team are getting ……
    NO!!!!
We seem to forget these guys are young…..18 – 21. Are they pros…. No. Do they deserve
our support …..yes because that is what Vol fans do. Why are we acting like spoiled
brats who think we should win every game and everyone should get a trophy.
That’s not what Vol fans do!!! That sounds like SC or Fla fans. Be careful what you wish
for fans. We could get another Kiffin. Or better yet we could get another Dooley who
will dismantle our program piece by piece. Is CBJ the best coach in the country? No.
But do you really want to send him packing. Think long and hard before answering.
Stop complaining, stop arm chair judging and coaching, start acting like a Vol. Rally
around our guys, go to games , show your support through thick and thin. Don’t be like
SC fans who only go when we win. What kind of fan is that. Not a car at all.
We are better than this people. So those of you who are not going to any more games until we win perhaps you should turn in your tickets to someone who will support our team and staff. Stop complaining and realize that we will NOT win every game even though you feel entitled to. These are kids playing their hearts out so they deserve our full support. Put on your orange shirts I Saturday and put Fla behind you so we can support our team. Enough of the complaining already!!!!!!!!
