Defensive Line
Defensive End: 1. Jonathan Kongbo, 2. Kyle Phillips
Defensive Tackle: 1. Kendal Vickers, 2. Quay Piccou
Defensive Tackle: 1. Kahlil McKenzie, 2. Alexis Johnson
Defensive End: 1. Darrell Taylor, 2. Deandre Johnson
Thoughts: If Shy Tuttle is healthy enough to play in this game, Bob Shoop and Brady Hoke may run him out there for a few plays. But he isn’t likely to be the main backup at either defensive tackle position in a game that will feature tons of cut blocking. Quay Piccou and Alexis Johnson are much more likely to be called upon to spell Kendal Vickers and Kahlil McKenzie
The second defensive end spot opposite Jonathan Kongbo is still a bit of a mystery, but Darrell Taylor has shown more during fall camp than Kyle Phillips to this point. Expect both to see the field, however. And freshman Deandre Johnson will be the next man up in the rotation considering he was an early enrollee and has more knowledge of the defensive schemes than the rest of the freshmen in the group.
