Former Vol defensive lineman LaTroy Lewis has been having quite a strong NFL preseason so far. And he added a huge highlight to his already impressive performance this preseason with the Oakland Raiders.
The Raiders were taking on the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night in Oakland’s third preseason game of the season. During the third quarter, Dallas rookie quarterback, Cooper Rush, dropped back to pass when he was met by Oakland’s pass rush. He was hit, and he fumbled the ball into the air. Rookie LaTroy Lewis corralled it with an athletic play, and he scampered 65 yards for a score.

Since moving into the NFL as an undrafted free agent after the 2017 NFL Draft, Lewis has been converted over to linebacker in Oakland’s defensive system. And he has found success there this preseason.
Heading into Oakland’s match-up with Dallas on Saturday, Lewis had five tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss, and two quarterback hits during his playing time in the Raiders’ first two games. Now he can add a fumble recovery and defensive touchdown to his stat line throughout the preseason.
