The 10 Most Underrated Vols on the 2017 Roster

7. Tim Jordan, Running Back

The most talked about freshman running back on Tennessee’s roster this year has been former four-star back Ty Chandler. But for all the talk Chandler has received, another freshman back became the first at his position to have his black stripe removed.

Tim Jordan was the lowest-rated player in the Vols’ most recent crop of newcomers. Jordan was barely a three-star according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, and he was rated as the No. 1,692 overall player in the country. But the minute the media caught a glimpse of the prospect out of Bartow, Florida, it was apparent the recruiting rankings were a little off.

Jordan already looked more fit and SEC-ready than the rest of the Vols’ freshmen backs, and his play on the practice field has reflected that. Jordan was one of a small handful of freshmen to have their black stripes removed during fall camp, and he beat his fellow freshmen classmates at his position to the punch.

Despite that fact, Jordan will likely still start the season as a fourth string back in Tennessee’s offense. But he can contribute on special teams early on, and his impressive performance this early in his career bodes well for his future.
