Vol Stock Report: Week 3 of Fall Camp

Stock Down

Carlin Fils-Aime, RB

It’s not that Carlin Fils-Aime has looked bad in practice. Because he hasn’t. But freshman Ty Chandler has just looked better, and coaches have stated that all three of the Vols’ freshmen running backs will play this season. That’s going to cut into Fils-Aime’s playing time, and Ty Chandler especially has the skill set to unseat him as the No. 2 back behind John Kelly.

Shaq Wiggins, CB

Even with Emmanuel Moseley missing the first part of fall camp in a green, non-contact jersey, all the talk at cornerback was about Justin Martin and the younger players. Transfer corner Shaq Wiggins has yet to really stand out, and it appears he’s solidly behind Martin and Moseley for playing time.

Latrell Williams, WR

Redshirt freshman Latrell Williams has shown off his impressive speed so far in fall camp, but he’s yet to make a move on the Vols’ depth chart really. It still seems like Tyler Byrd, Marquez Callaway, and Brandon Johnson are squarely ahead of Williams in the Vols’ receiver rotation. And with freshman Josh Palmer applying pressure as well, it appears Williams may not have as much playing time this year as some anticipated.
