The Vols’ football uniforms have been an iconic part of college football for decades. Tennessee’s orange and white uniforms are a staple of college football, and no other team has a similar look or style to the Vols.

And according to Athlon Sports, the Vols’ look is one of the best in all of college football.

Athlon ranked their top 25 uniforms heading into the 2017 season, and Tennessee’s uniforms just cracked the top 20, coming in at exactly No. 20 on the list.

“No one in the world has this shade of orange,” the article states. “Every time you see it, you think Tennessee Volunteers. That’s a branding identity you simply cannot put a price on.”

Only three other SEC schools have better uniforms for this season according to Athlon. Florida (19th), Georgia (13th), and Alabama (8th) are the only conference schools with better jerseys according to the folks at Athlon’s discerning eyes.

The Michigan Wolverines nab the top spot in Athlon’s rankings.

Tennessee added a new look to their traditional orange and white when they donned the gray alternate jersey in 2013. The Vols would then put another twist on that look when they switched from Adidas to Nike in 2015 and added the Smokey Gray uniform to their repertoire of jerseys. The Vols have worn those Smokey Gray Nike uniforms three times and are undefeated in them.
