The Vols held a scrimmage that was closed to the media on Wednesday night, but that doesn’t mean we all didn’t get a little glimpse into what all went on behind the scenes.
Tennessee’s official Twitter account posted photos and a video of Vol legend Peyton Manning visiting with the Vols’ football team before their scrimmage. Here are the photos from Manning’s visit:

And here’s the video of his motivational speech he gave to the team before they took the field:

“Only you guys know what this team’s going to be about,” Manning said to the Vols. “Block out all the noise…and stay in house together.”
Manning’s message echoed that of what Butch Jones has said to the media at various times as well. Jones has mentioned before about blocking out distractions and coming together before, and Manning shared those same thoughts with the team.
Manning also added that he “has your back” to the whole team and that he’s “rooting for” the Vols especially this season.
