10 Freshman Who Can Contribute Immediately for the Vols

Trey Coleman

Butch Jones said earlier this week that he expects all three of Tennessee’s freshmen running backs to play this season in some capacity. Whether that’s on offense or special teams, that still bodes well for the trio of true freshmen the Vols have at running back.

Trey Coleman is an intriguing athlete who recorded back-to-back 1,300 yard rushing seasons in his final two years of high school before joining the Vols. Coleman will have to compete with a crowded backfield for playing time at running back, but his skill set should make him a solid option on special teams as well.

Even if Coleman doesn’t get much playing time as a true running back, he’ll find a way to get on the field.
