10 Freshman Who Can Contribute Immediately for the Vols

Terrell Bailey

Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop stated this week that he likes what he’s seen from Terrell Bailey and stated that Bailey is working at the nickel corner position behind Rashaan Gaulden. That alone should speak to Bailey’s ability.

Bailey came out of high school as a three-star with a handful of SEC offers. But Bailey had little fanfare despite his solid build and decent offer list. But Bailey could be just the type of player the Vols need on special teams this year on coverage and return units. Unless there are a number of injuries again on defense this year, Bailey likely won’t see the field on defense except for garbage time.

But Bailey has the skill set to contribute immediately on special teams, and that can’t be overlooked.

  1. Shamburger will be the biggest gem & he’ll outplay many that were rated a lot higher than him over the next 3 to 5 years.
